What is WordPress?

WordPress is a popular Content Management System (CMS) where you can easily manage your website with a dashboard. Even you are a complete beginner even without knowing a single line of coding you can build your website and manage it.  Overall there are many CMS available online but WordPress is the most popular platform. 35% of the internet is powered by WordPress as of January 2020. Maybe now you got an idea, how powerful WordPress is. But before moving on to know more about WordPress, I want you to know that there are two types of WordPress available. WordPress.com and WordPress.org WordPress.com is a blog hosting service and it is usually a paid one whereas, WordPress.org is an open-source CMS where it is freely available on the internet. We need WordPress.org is needed to build your professional website. Now, let’s see the pros and cons of using WordPress for building your business website.

Pros of Using WordPress:

Easy to Update: Using WordPress is super easy and you can simply update your website using a dashboard. A dashboard will be given to you where you can log in with the username and password and do the necessary changes on your website. Professional Themes: If you are using WordPress, you can have access to a number of themes. Themes are the ready-made templates, where you just install it on your WordPress and edit the content and images according to your business. Normally there are Free and Paid WordPress themes. For free themes normally you can check the official WordPress directory. For premium themes, there are many companies that sell premium themes. The most popular among them is Themeforest and the other which I love is Astra Themes. Easily Updatable: Once your website is live, maybe after 2 months you need to update images on your website or contact details, you don’t need to hire a web developer for such tasks. You can simply open the WordPress dashboard, open a particular page and update it. All you need is to take training from the web developer or watch online tutorials to update the website yourself.

Cons of using WordPress:

Maintenance: Though maintaining the website will be in your control, you will need to take the responsibility of updating the changes on your website yourself. If not web developers offer maintenance services as well. You can hire easily.

What is a Static HTML website?

HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. HTML is the markup language that is used to display web pages. HTML is necessary for all platforms to create web pages.  To build an HTML website, either you will need to learn to code or hire a web developer. HTML is the first technology that I have learned when I started learning web designing.  You cannot build websites using only HTML. You will also need CSS, jQuery and PHP technologies. HTML: It is the skeleton of your website, where you will be using tags. CSS, CSS3: To add colors, change fonts and animations on your website you will need CSS. jQuery, Javascript: It helps you to add functionality to your website. PHP: It helps in adding backend functionalities to your websites like Database, MySql and stuff. You don’t need to worry about these technologies. You can simply hire a web developer and you can get your website done. Now let’s see the pros and cons of having HTML website for your business

Pros of an HTML website:

No Maintenance: If your business website is having no changes in the future, all you need to do is take a backup of your website and leave it. Highly Customizable: If you are using HTML for your business website you can customize each and every section of your website according to your needs. Unique Website Design: You will get a unique website designed exclusively for YOU. As we can customize the website the way we want, you will get a unique website design. All you need to take care of is to hire a professional web development company and your job will be done.

Cons of an HTML website:

No Updates: Until and unless you know coding, updating your HTML website can be very difficult to update. You will need to take the help of a web developer even for smaller tasks or any changes. Need to Invest: You will need to invest in building your professional website. You will need to hire a professional web developer or web development company in building your website as you don’t know coding. You will need to plan your website in advance so that the cost of an HTML website does not go higher.
